EXPLORING MDT: From Systematic Diagnosis to Rapid Results
Exploring the Facts and Dispelling Myths:
Whether you are a licensed PT or a PT Student you have undoubtedly heard of the McKenzie Method® and Robin McKenzie’s world-renowned contributions to the field of Physiotherapy. However, as the McKenzie Institute International (MII) and its branches are the only sanctioned providers of MDT education, most clinicians only receive a brief introduction to the McKenzie system at university. Our objective in offering this complimentary workshop, delivered by a MII Accredited Instructor and MDT expert, is to help Canadian clinicians gain a truer sense of this globally respected and practiced system, used by thousands of clinicians worldwide for the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. This workshop will deliver valuable clinical insight and enhance the attendees’ knowledge of MDT as it relates to the spine and extremities. If you believe in following an evidence-based approach, that uses active therapy strategies and focuses on patient education, then make plans to attend this workshop and discover what you don’t know about MDT!
Delivering Results: From What? To Wow!
Clinicians that go on to study MDT post-university are very often surprised to learn that the McKenzie Method® is so much more than just repetitive movements and extension exercises. Most do not realize MDT is a comprehensive diagnostic system, designed to guide clinicians reliably and confidently to the most appropriate treatment plan for their patients. Part A course attendees frequently comment on how amazed they were to see such rapid results during the legitimate patient demonstrations, achieved in as little as one or two sessions.

Embrace Knowledge, Eliminate Preconceptions:
To treat effectively, clinicians must first assess and diagnose accurately. Quite often patients are mistakenly treated for extremity joint issues (shoulder, elbow, knee, hip etc.) when the symptoms are in fact referred from the spine. The comprehensive nature of the MDT system enables clinicians to reliably rule out the spine when assessing extremity patients. Attend this workshop to gain insight into how MDT trained clinicians confidently and reliably rule out the spine, to accurately classify their patients to determine the most appropriate treatment strategy. Also, gain a better understanding of the scope of the approach, and how MDT can benefit both the patient and the clinician.
