Kick-starting MDT Clinicians in the Extremities: This two-day fully online course will introduce the principles and practical application of MDT in the extremities to clinicians that attended Part C and D before extremity content was introduced on McKenzie courses. Clinicians will kick-start their knowledge of MDT in the extremities through clinical reasoning, problem solving, analysis of case studies, assessment and treatment of patients, and technique work. 15JAN (SAT) 10:00am - 3.45pm / 16JAN (SUN) 10:00am - 4.15pm. The times listed are in the Eastern Time Zone. Please adjust as necessary for your local time zone. Additional pre-course pre-work will be required in advance of the course which will take about 3 hours to complete. Objectives:Identify and discuss barriers to the use of MDT in the extremities. / Compare and contrast the application of MDT in the spine to the extremities. / Analyse how the history and the physical examination helps to identify and distinguish between the MDT extremity classifications, including Serious Pathology and its associated screening. / Perform a spinal assessment and analyse the findings to differentiate between symptoms that are spinal in origin or are arising from the extremity. / Perform an extremity assessment and analyse the findings to differentiate between MDT extremity classifications. / Demonstrate competence in using MDT terminology when completing an extremity assessment form. / Discuss and design appropriate management programmes for patients who present with MDT classifications in the extremities.

Eligibility: Clinicians that attended Part C or higher before the extremity content was introduced on McKenzie courses. Or Level D clinicians or higher that completed Parts C and D after the extremity content was introduced may find this course to be a good review of the extremity content covered during their C and D courses. However, as the McKenzie Institute will soon require clinicians to complete the Advanced Extremities course before credentialling, it is recommended that Level D clinicians that were introduced to the extremities during their C and D courses, take a live Advanced Extremities course in their region. Pre-course Pre: View two videos on The Evidence for MDT in the Extremities, view "Bringing everyone up to Speed" webinar (not required if you attended the live webinar), read 2 articles (details to supplied at registration) and clinical definition document, read the new Module 4 of the Part A manual. Material will be supplied once registration payment has been processed. Total prep time - 3 hours.
